The main things are:
For swap you need this.
This stuff is between engine from Warbi and gear box from Trabi :)
To install disk breaks:
To know how to install disk breaks on front go to HOW2 in this forum :) There you have fotostory about :)
About rear breaks from vw I'll do faq but in the near future ;)
May be TrabiVR6 do it faster ;)
ps
sorry for my english ;)

do you not think for a maximum reduction of the suspension? ]:> in your country this has not yet been ;-)

Hello ilirobus.
About brakes there are two topics on our forum.
First one - front brakes:
http://trabantowy.prohost...topic.php?t=993
Second one - rear brakes:
http://trabantowy.prohost...opic.php?t=1428
and front brakes from VW to Trabant 1.1 (parts are quite similar as 601):

For now it is not a big problem to install front disk brakes and rear drumm brakes.
Ok i understand that I need a flange between the warbi engine and trabi gearbox.
I am wondering how are they connected.
I am talking about the clutch system between them .
What clutch is used there ?
And will the trabi gearbox resist the power of the wartburg engine ?
Because the warbi engine is twice powerfull than the original trabant engine.

CARTOONTRABANT.PL napisał/a: | Sprzęgło
Opcja 1.
Z tarczą sprzęgła jest taki problem, że nie pasuje wieloklin do wałka sprzęgłowego skrzyni trabantowskiej. Tu trzeba delikatnie rozebrać sprzęgło i wyciągnąć środek. Dobrze byłoby też zrobić go nieco dłuższy niż oryginalny trabantowski, żeby był mocniejszy. Frez na wałku sprzęgłowym pozwala go przedłużyć o jeszcze 2 - 3 mm. Trzeba pomierzyć dokładnie w którą stronę go przedłużyć, żeby miało to sens.

Option 1
The clutch disc is a problem that does not fit wieloklin to the roller clutch gearbox trabantowskiej. You need to gently strip the clutch and pull the measure. I mean that part of wieloklinem. And it would be best now to pożądnego material suitable for quenching, earn some extra money all the same. With the exception of wieloklinu for stroke must be the same as in Trabancie. It would be good also do it a bit longer than the original trabantowski to see it strengthened. Cutter on the shaft sprzęgłowym allows him to extend a further 2 - 3 mm. We must measure the exact direction in which it extended to have a meaning. At the end everything has to be sufficiently harden. Commanded at the beginning turner to me that he made in this way. Unfortunately, he made it to the unknown quality material and disappointed at him. Not that I received, and consequently found herself another turner - a lot cheaper. But I told him to earn some extra money now in a different way.
Option 2
In wartburgowskiej clutch disc must be brought in the middle of the hole. Push him (for presses) previously cut from the clutches of the Trabant, wieloklin. That's all then you have to gently so as not to overheat, opspawać. I am not making a clutch nitowałem three rivets, Interconnection them together. Instead I used screws with greater strength. Wartburgi had over the years a variety of clutch discs. In most cases, they differed in how the suppression of torsional vibration. It would be good if you treating clutch dampers in the form of springs. Prevent (or postponement) is objechanie to wieloklinu on the shaft sprzęgłowym and damage the gearbox. The second option is easier, but weaker because they do not allow long wieloklinu earn some extra money.

Thank you for that information.
Can you show me some pictures of the installing process of the warbi engine.
Some precise topic mybe.
And also important :
Will the Trabi gerabox resist the twice powerfull engine of the Warbi ?
:-)

About gear box I think it's retoric question 'cose people made, are makeing and will be make this mode :)

Back again.
I am wondering, how did you drive your Wabants and Traburgs with the changed engine, the disk brakes on the wheels.
Is it legal in Poland ?
Is there any ,,modification control '' in your country ?
Because in our country it is too damn difficult and expencive to drive a Wabant .
We have to go to traffic Police and give money, wait weeks and nothing isn't sure .
Till now I have left with one trabant, the coupe.
The other one, the kombi was too damn rusted .
ilirobus - 2011-12-17, 15:02
So, the kombi is dead :-( . Too many rust, so it can't even roll.
I am with the sedan now. Preparing the engine bay for painting.
Hiding wires and stuff.
Also working on installing Barkas engine.
Also bought some new parts - disk brakes, new wheels, but everything needs refresh before installing in Trabi.
Lots of work, no time. :-)

Hi All
I want to ask you something :
I have the same ATS wheels, but I don't know what tires to choose.
So I want to buy the same as the ones on this Trabi, because it is simply one of mine personal favourites :
note - the grey one is also using the same wheels.

Also - Does anyone have more photos of the same Trabi and the grey one ?
Cheers !

I think for 6 inch 165/55 r13 (pirelli p700) is the best. Also 155/65 look fine, but is bigger.
bRq - 2012-01-11, 21:37
165/55 Pirelli p700z is the best :)
ilirobus - 2013-03-13, 21:56
Long time no see. :-)
Kombi is dead , so sedan can live.
Also installed front disks.
Ginster Gelb paint to come soon.
Sqall - 2013-03-13, 23:53
Looks good, nice yellow. Keep goin' and remember to report news ;)
ilirobus - 2013-07-13, 21:32
Ginster Gelb Trabi this time for real.
Unfortunatelly I can't get it any lower because of the bumpy roads around here. :-/
But it still looks pretty german stylish with the ATS Classic 1979 year of production wheels.
Wartburg engine for now on hold.
Only one problem: My flange is not 30, but 25 mm thick. Looking for advice on the clutch bearing, because the original Trabi bearing ( or whatever it is called ) fits only when the flange is 30 mm thick.
Pozdrawiam :-)
